Prayer news – AUTUMN, 2021

Dear praying friends,

Now that we are starting to come out of lockdown some of the Trustees have continued with fund-raising towards a new house which is our vision for the future.

Since Jenny went to Glory last August we have been praying about a new tenant and we are delighted that a Tenancy Agreement has been drawn up and signed by a new lady called Jacky , for which we give thanks to the Lord.

We are so grateful to all our supporters both in prayer and finance as well as work carried out by Trustees to keep the Trust ticking over.

Please continue to pray for Jacky and Cathy as they live together.

Please pray for our success in raising further money towards a house.

Please pray for Trustees and the future of the Trust.

With many thanks

Sue Carruthers

PRAYER NEWS – FEBRUARY, 2021

You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God you will receive what is promised” Heb: 10:36

We pray the start of this New Year finds you well as we continue on our journey with the Lord.

As Trustees we want to thank you once again for your faithful support of Bridge Priory Trust both in prayer and financially.

As you know our fervent desire is to acquire a second house in order to accommodate more of our  friends with learning difficulties and complex needs. In order to do this we have to fund-raise and an important part of this was to get the Website up to date and working again. We are grateful that this has been achieved and we look forward to keeping you informed of events taking place.

We have already had two offers of funding for which we are very grateful.

Bridge Priory Trust was formed in 2008 as a result of Jenny going into independent living and her Mum wanting her to have the best possible home to meet her needs. She moved into rented accommodation along with three other ladies. After a few years of living in rented accommodation the Trust was able to purchase a bungalow in Gateacre which we called Ivy Cottage. Jenny and a lady called Cathy lived happily together for over 8 years.

Sadly,  Jenny passed away in August 2020 which now leaves a gap at Ivy Cottage which in these days of Lockdown is difficult to fill, and Cathy is very much missing her friend.

PLEASE PRAY

For a suitable tenant for Ivy Cottage

For  creativity in fund-raising

For wisdom in operating the Trust

For Cathy and the Support Workers

The Thursday Club

Bridge Priory Trust has emerged from the “Thursday Club” which opened in 1992. This Club is part of a Christian Ministry of Bridge Chapel, a local Community church in South Liverpool. It was set up for the specific purpose of meeting the social needs of adults with learning difficulties and complex needs. This long term friendship forms an important link when considering this major step of independent living.

Because of Covid and Lockdown we have not been able to meet with our friends from Thursday Club since March of last year and had to cancel the much anticipated weekend to Quinta. We have very much missed our Thursday night get-togethers.

We have had several Zoom sessions over the year, made  phone calls  with offers of shopping and help and generally tried to keep in touch. Hopefully once people have been vaccinated we will be able to resume our sessions and even plan events including a weekend away.
